SCHEDULE:                          Monday thru Thursday: 8:00 am to 4:15 pm

                                                Friday: 8:00 am to 3:00 pm   



Assist in ensuring the agency's behavior support services are in compliance with federal, state and corporate compliance regulations. This position conducts Functional Behavior Analyses (FBAs) and develops, presents to the Human Rights Committee, and trains on Behavior Support Plans as required. Additionally, this position supports and assists the Crisis Intervention Specialist and collaborates with the Licensed Clinical Team and provides on-site training, coaching and modeling.  


  • Develops, and monitors Behavior Support Plans that do not include restrictive/intrusive interventions
  • Develops Behavior Support Plans that include restrictive/intrusive interventions under the supervision of a licensed psychologist or licensed clinical social worker with training in behavioral intervention techniques
    • Develops and monitors behavior data tracking
    • Reviews documentation of restrictive interventions
  • Supports and assists the Crisis Intervention Specialist
  • Instructs agency trainings specific to support plans
  • Provides on-site training, coaching and modeling
  • Obtains certification to train OPWDD regulated crisis prevention, intervention, and resolution strategies



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:                                               

  • Master's degree from a program or clinical or treatment field of psychology, social work, school psychology or applied psychology as it relates to human development and clinical interventions and documented training in assessment techniques and behavior support plan development


  • National Board Certification in Behavior Analysis with a Master's degree in behavior analysis or a field closely related to clinical or community psychology that is approved by OPWDD


  • New York State license in mental health counseling and at least five years of experience working directly with individual with developmental disabilities including the development, implementation and monitoring of behavior support plans and/or providing supervision and training to others in the implementation of behavior support plans
