SCHEDULE:   Monday - Thursday:  8:00am to 4:15pm.  Friday:  8:00am to 3:00 pm.         

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Functioning as a team leader, under the direction of the Associate Director of Residential Health Care Services, the Residential Nursing Coordinator supervises Medical Assistants (MAs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).  The Residential Nursing Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of unlicensed direct care associates in the performance of nursing tasks and activities and ensures the associates are adequately trained in providing health care tasks.  The Residential Nursing Coordinator promotes and ensures the health and wellbeing of individuals by utilizing standard nursing practices. 

 

 

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Promotes and insures the health and well-being of each individual.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and corporate compliance regulations.
  • Supervision of unlicensed direct care associates in the performance of nursing tasks and activities
  • Ensure associates are adequately trained in providing health care tasks.
  • Complete annual clinical evaluations of medication administration
  • Ensure records, files and reports are kept current and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure a person's health and medical services are comprehensive, implemented appropriately and are communicated effectively to maintain the individual's health.
  • Ensure an individual's medical concerns are addressed in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Ensure individual information is kept up to date and assessments are completed as required.
  • Ensure medical equipment, resources and supplies are adequate and well maintained.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate health and medical service delivery for each person.
  • Ensure information from medical professionals is obtained, understood and followed.
  • Ensure informed consents are obtained per regulation
  • Complete and routinely review medication regime reports
  • Complete medication administration reports and procedure errors and provide follow-up
  • Visit residences minimally weekly.
  • On-Call Coverage As Scheduled
  • Be available by phone during working hours
  • Review and approve administration of new medications
  • Assess and provide direction for medical concerns.
  • Maintain communication and documentation regarding nursing and health related information

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Registered Professional Nurse license
  • OPWDD MR/DD Orientation Training for Registered Nurses in MR/DD Nursing within three months of hire.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED and SCIP Certification within the first six months of hire
