SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, some flexibility in hours/days required
RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the Chief Operations Officer, the Central Intake and Transition Coordinator will facilitate both outreach initiatives and program admissions for all services provided by the Arc of Steuben with the exception of Early Intervention Service Coordination. This position will maintain a global understanding of all Agency services and will effectively communicate with prospective persons to be served, parents/caregivers, school personnel, community partners, Agency staff and OPWDD Region I Developmental Disabilities Regional Office staff. The person in this position will effectively manage multiple priorities of state and federal guidelines while establishing strong working relationships with schools, parents and regulators to secure the best fit for the individual to be served.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services related field and two years' experience working with persons with disabilities. Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel and Word. Must be self-directed, possessing good organizational, public speaking, and communication skills; along with an ability to work within a team-oriented approach; including personnel from local school districts.
